She’s a famous Latina mom and now she’s also a proud Latina mom. Why? Because Paula Garces’ baby boy has just said his first word!

Toñito recently said his first word — it was “dadda!” Garces says proudly. “I was very excited. I cried!”

Garces says her husband Antonio Hernandez was also thrilled to hear Toñitos primera palabra, especially because it referred to him. “But very quickly I was like, “Toñito, say mamá!” Garces says with a laugh. “He still won’t say it, but all in due time, I guess.”

Garces’ baby boy turns 1 on November 20 and the proud mom is already planning his cumpleaños!

“He loves Gymboree so Im thinking of having something there with his baby friends and cousins,” Garces says. “I’m also sure that my family will end up mixing Thanksgiving with Toñitos birthday so it might be a turkey birthday bash!” says Garces, who plays a nanny to a 2-year-old in her new movie Adult Beginners, due out this fall.

“I play Blanca. She’s part of a group of nannies who meet in the park and she strikes up a friendship with Jake (Nick Kroll),” says Garces. “Jake ends up having a thing for her and they have some pretty funny moments as they try to enjoy some sexy time while the kids they nanny for have playdates,” she says.

Garces started shooting Adult Beginners just two months after giving birth to Toñito.

“It was hard at first to leave him, but when I did it wasnt for very long and my mom and my hubby took very good care of him,” says Garces.
