She’s an idol to millions of kids around the world, but earlier this month Dora the Explorer star Fatima Ptacek was just an ordinary girl starting her freshman year of high school at a “regular school.” The 14-year-old star shared this photo of her first day of escuela exclusively with us and it’s adorable!
So what’s it like for Fatima to be starting her freshman year of high school? “My biggest concern was that I was heading to a new school where I knew absolutely no one,” the part-Ecuadorean star tells EXCLUSIVLee.com. “None of my classmates in middle school were transferring to the same high school and I didn’t have any friends there either,” she says, adding that she hoped the transition from middle school to high school wouldn’t be “too painful.”
Luckily for Fatima, the kids at her new school were just as cool as her former classmates!
“That fear was alleviated immediately on the first day of school when I started getting to know other students. I’ve made lots of friends already and I have to say that I’m very fortunate to be in a school with lots of really cool and like-minded people,” she says.
And as for her awesome school uniform (check it out in the photo above!), Fatima says she has no complaints!
“Even though I love fashion, I appreciate wearing a uniform to school. It makes everything far less complicated,” Fatima says. “I wear them to school, riding, and gymnastics. For school, my philosophy is that if you’re going to wear a uniform, you should wear it correctly and keep it neat and simple,” she adds. “Add a little pizzazz with combat boots and maybe some Alex and Ani bracelets.”
Looks like this freshman has high school all figured out!
