There’s no slowing down the Fast & Furious franchise!

Over the weekend, the seventh installment in the popular franchise (Furious 7) made an impressive $67 million on its opening day and a total of $143.62 million for the weekend. The action film — which opened on April 3—also raked in HUGE numbers abroad, bringing in a whopping $240.4 million for a worldwide opening weekend gross of $384.02 million!

According to Entertainment Weekly, Furious 7 made 50 percent more than the last Furious film’s opening ($97.4 million) and it’s the first film in the entire franchise to break the $100 million mark in its first weekend. Even more impressive, Furious 7 made only slightly less in its first weekend than the first Fast and Furious movie made throughout its entire 19-week run back in 2001 (whoa!).

The massive opening for the film — which stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster and features the final appearance by the late Paul Walker, who passed away in November of 2013 at the age of 40 — also makes Furious 7 the ninth biggest opening weekend ever, behind Spider-Man 3’s $151.1 million debut in 2007.

Furious 7 star Ludacris tweeted about the film’s big opening weekend and dedicated the huge box office to his late co-star, Paul Walker. “The fans have spoken. LOUD! #Furious7 Biggest Universal Pictures opening of ALL TIME! #forpaul,” he wrote.

And on his Facebook page, Vin Diesel also shared a photo of him and Paul with the caption, “Pablo, this weekend you turned the world into a familyThanks for the love.
